Gut Health, Stress, and the Power of Slowing Down

Deep Rest Nidra - Every Tuesday Evening

Over the past few years, I’ve noticed just how much the fast pace of life can take a toll on my body—especially my gut health. Stress and busyness often show up in the body before we even realise it, and for me, that’s where I started to see the effects most.

This sparked a journey of exploration. I began looking more deeply into my nutrition, paying attention to what truly nourishes me from the inside out. But while nutrition has been such an important part of the process, what’s helped me most has been something much simpler: slowing down.

Hot yoga has become my anchor, and within that, the practice of Yoga Nidra has been life-changing. Yoga Nidra—often called yogic sleep—guides you into a deep state of rest where the body can truly relax, reset, and restore itself. For me, it has been a balm for both my nervous system and my digestion.

That’s why I want to give back and share this practice with you.

This winter, I’ll be teaching Deep Rest Nidra sessions at the studio. Imagine lying down cocooned in pillows and blankets, with soft sounds around you and the comfort of gentle touch—like a head massage to help you drift even further into ease. It’s a practice of being cared for, of letting go, and of inviting deep rest during the darker, colder months when our bodies naturally crave more stillness.

If you’ve been feeling the weight of stress, or your gut has been whispering (or shouting) that it needs more care, this practice is for you. Join me in taking the time to pause, breathe, and rest—you’ll be amazed at how deeply restorative it can be.
